He was the first player in NFL history to record seven games with 10 or more receptions in 2008. Johnson is the first Texans player to be inducted.
Robert C. McNair
During the 2019 Pink Ribbon Day game, the Houston Texans honored late Texans co-founder, senior chairman and chief executive officer Robert C. McNair, as he was inducted into the Houston Texans Ring of Honor. During a special halftime ceremony, video tributes from players, past and present, aired, as did messages from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and others, all of whom praised his character, values and generosity. Mr. McNair and his wife of 60 years, club co-founder and senior chair Janice McNair, have donated more than $500,000,000 to charity through their foundation. Retired Texans wide receiver and the first inductee into the Ring of Honor, Andre Johnson, presented a framed red Ring of Honor blazer and a painting of the couple to Mrs. McNair and their son, Texans chairman and CEO Cal McNair. To commemorate his life and legacy, the Texans have established Founder's Day, which will be celebrated annually on October 6, the date the franchise was awarded to the McNairs in 1999. The day will be dedicated to service in Mr. McNair's honor. Each year, Texans staff will complete a volunteer project together to honor his memory and continue his legacy of giving back to the community.
