For Wendall Williams, it's a dream come true. This week, the Texans signed the rookie wide receiver to the active roster from the practice squad.
"To be honest, I'm 26 and this is the biggest dream I ever had in my life and for me to just be in a setting like this, just makes me want to stay here," Williams said. "I love being around the guys, I love the locker room. I love the work ethic of this team and I just want to stay."
On Nov. 8, Williams rejoined the Texans when he was signed to the practice squad as a free agent. With Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong landing on injured reserve in the past week, the Texans were in need of another wide receiver with three games remaining and an AFC South division title on the line.
Williams, who wears No. 82, hopes he can help.
"It's great, man," Williams said. "It's a great opportunity for all of us actually. Just living it day-to-day man. As long as I come to work, go hard, I mean, it should be alright."
Williams, undrafted out of the University of Cumberlands, spent the offseason and training camp with the Texans. Best known for his speed, Williams ran a 4.19 40-yard dash at his regional combine.
