C.J. Fiedorowicz, Brock Osweiler on "same page"

Posted Oct 17, 2016

QB Brock Osweiler and TE C.J. Fiedorowicz linked up for a 26-yd TD in the game's final minute of regulation.

Brock Osweiler and C.J. Fiedorowicz were in perfect harmony late in Sunday’s win over Indianapolis.

The former hit the latter for a 26-yard touchdown pass with 0:49 remaining in regulation, as Osweiler threaded the proverbial needle in getting the ball to the tight end.

“He made a great throw to C.J. on that touchdown,” head coach Bill O’Brien said on Monday. “That was not a very big window to throw that ball into.”

The touchdown, and ensuing extra point by kicker Nick Novak, equalized the score at 23-all. Being on “the same page” was the key, according to Fiedorowicz.

“He saw me and he threw it right in the perfect spot,” Fiedorowicz said. “Great connection.”

Those two linked up six times for 85 yards on the evening, and Osweiler was mightily impressed with the precision of Fiedorowicz’s route.

“C.J. ran an incredible route,” Osweiler said. “They were playing a two-high defense. It was the perfect look, and C.J. did a great job. He ran a terrific route. The offensive line gave me time, and C.J. did a tremendous job of bending in front of the safety and making a great catch to protect that ball, because Mike Adams could have made a play on that ball, but C.J. protected the throw. We had a heck of a catch and got in the end zone. C.J.’s a guy that I have a ton of confidence in.  He’s a terrific football player and is an even better teammate.”

It was the second touchdown of the season for Fiedorowicz, and he’s tallied a career-best 201 receiving yards in 2016.
