Christian Covington out for season

Defensive end Christian Covington's 2017 season has come to an end, head coach Bill O'Brien announced Monday. The Texans defense suffered another season-ending injury to the defensive line, just weeks after losing J.J. Watt to a leg injury.

"Yeah, I think he's probably going to be out for the season," O'Brien said. "It was a torn bicep. And I think it's too bad for him because he was really playing at a high level. It was too bad for us, too."

Covington exited the 41-38 loss in Seattle following the first play of the second half. Covington was injured while tackling Seahawks running back Eddie Lacy.

Covington action in all seven games this year with one start. He finishes his third NFL season with 16 tackles, including 10 solo, two quarterback hits, one tackle for loss, one sack and one forced fumble.
