Here are five things you need to know about Carlos Watkins, the Texans 2017 fourth-round draft pick:

1. Sack King
Watkins recorded 10.5 sacks in 2016, the highest by a defensive tackle in Clemson's school history. He broke the previous record of 10, held by Jim Stuckey, William Perry, and Michael Dean Perry.

    Watkins, who shared Tiger Pride co-Defensive Team MVP honors with Ben Boulware and Jadar Johnson, had nine stops and one tackle for loss in the national championship game against Alabama.

3. Championship High
He attended the same high school as Rod and Chuck McSwain, who were both on the 1981 National Championship team for Clemson.

4. Tragedy in Year 2
Watkins was a passenger in a fatal car accident on Sept. 21, 2013. He missed the rest of the season due recovering from injuries.

"I could have lost my life," Watkins said. "I did lose one of my close relatives. When I sat down and just thought about it, it was truly a blessing to make it to this point, and all the things I've been through, me and my family and now we get to celebrate with the Texans, it's really been a ride."

5. Reunion in Houston
During his five seasons at Clemson, Watkins played alongside the three other Clemson alums on the Texans team: DeAndre Hopkins (2012), D.J. Reader (2012-15), and Deshaun Watson (2014-16)
