J.J. Watt gives update on his health

Posted May 7, 2018

Defensive end J.J. Watt answered questions from the media about his health.

On October 8, J.J. Watt was lost for the season due to a knee injury.

Almost seven months later, he's walking around brace-free and able to play golf.

The 3-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year took part in the 16th annual Houston Texans Charity Golf Classic presented by BMW. Before striping his first tee shot down the fairway, he shared his health status when asked by the local media.

“I feel great," Watt said. "I feel very good. I mean, I’m not going to put any percentages on it or anything."

Watt went down in the first quarter of the contest versus the Chiefs at NRG Stadium last autumn. He's been on the comeback trail since.

"Like I said earlier in the offseason, I could tell you I’m feeling unbelievable (or) I could tell you I’m feeling super (bad) – you won’t know until I hit the field," Watt said. "Just show up to training camp, watch how I play and then you can decide for yourself how I look.”

The Texans begin OTAs on May 21, and training camp starts at The Greenbrier in West Virginia in late July.
