MINNEAPOLIS 12:42 p.m. - The Texans' offensive line is struggling to protect quarterback Matt Schaub. He hardly has time to make a pass. At the end of the first quarter, the Texans has 26 yards of offense and 25 yards of penalties. Duane Brown must do a better job of fending off defensive end Jared Allen so that Schaub can get the air game going. The Vikings defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams have been plugging the middle, giving Slaton few creases.

MINNEAPOLIS 12:21 p.m. - Cornerback Jacques Reeves picked off quarterback Gus Frerotte and scored on a 44-yard return. The touchdown evened the score at 7-7. It was Reeves' second interception of the season and the first touchdown of his career.

MINNEAPOLIS 12:10 p.m. - The Texans knew they were coming into the game shorthanded on offense with running back Ahman Green inactive for the game. They did not expect their defense to look overwhelmed. But the Houston's defense allowed the Vikings to stretch the field on a 55-yard pass to Bernard Berrian. That helped set up a one-yard touchdown run by Adrian Peterson to make the score 7-0.
