Why I Coach

How long have you been coaching? Where did your career begin? What college or university did you attend?
I have been coaching for 6 years. My coaching career began while I was in college because I wanted to help kids improve in volleyball. I graduated from Prairie View A&M University.
Why do you coach? Why flag football?
I coach because I love teaching girls how to play the game. I really enjoy the competition and energy that comes with coaching. Flag football is honestly new to me, but I enjoy accepting challenges. I took a chance on learning the game, and it was exciting to watch my team learn it and accomplish great things this season.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the students improve each week and work hard every day, both on and off the field. It feels good to inspire the girls to push themselves and do better.
Why is the growth of girls flag football important to you?
The growth of girls' flag football is important to me because it is an opportunity I wish I had when I was in school. It is a fun sport, and I love that girls now have the chance to experience it and continue playing beyond high school.
