Meet Coach Quatera Limbrick | Coach of the Week

WHY I COACH

Quatera Limbrick, Austin High School

How long have you been coaching? Where did your career begin? What College or university did you attend?

I have been coaching for about three years, including two years in girls' flag football. My coaching journey began at Stephen F. Austin High School. I am also a former student-athlete, having attended the University of Houston and Texas Southern University on full athletic scholarships, which helped shape my understanding of discipline, hard work, and commitment at a high level.

Why do you coach? Why flag football?

I coach because I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with the younger generation to help them reach their goals both on and off the field. I take pride in developing athletes not only in their performance, but also in their character, discipline, and confidence so they can succeed beyond sports.

I chose girls' flag football because it is a growing sport that provides tremendous opportunity for young women. I want to help build a strong foundation by teaching the game the right way, developing confidence, and creating opportunities for athletes both athletically and personally.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of coaching is seeing athletes grow in confidence and maturity, and hearing from former players about the lasting impact the lessons have had on their lives.

Why is the growth of girls flag football important to you?

The growth of girls' flag football is important to me because it opens doors for young women to compete, develop leadership skills, and be recognized in a developing sport. I am proud to be part of that growth and to help empower the next generation of athletes.
