Best of J.J. Watt's week on 'Saturday Night Live' and 'The Tonight Show'

Last week was an eventful one for J.J. Watt.

The Texans star defensive end was busy in New York City hosting "Saturday Night Live," as well as making a guest appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and surprising the cast of the Netflix hit "Cheer."

Watt's week began on the "SNL" set as he prepared to become the 27th athlete and the 11th person with NFL playing experience to host the late night variety show.

On Wednesday, the 3-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and fan of the popular Netflix documentary "Cheer," surprised an unsuspecting cast during an interview on "Today with Hoda & Jenna."

Thursday night featured an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," where Watt answered questions while eating hot wings that increased in intensity and debuted a special touchdown dance thanks to the choreography of Justin Timberlake.

By Saturday night, Watt was ready to host "SNL" and show the country what he'd been working on all week.

His younger brothers, Derek and T.J., were also excited.

Watt opened the show with a monologue about his family and performed a variety of skits including Frozen 2, an Olay commercial, "The Bachelor," Madden 21 and more. He wrapped the show with a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.

Appreciative of the special opportunity, Watt thanked the "SNL" cast and crew and everyone who tuned in to watch.
