Schaub making the rounds in national media

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will be on the Jim Rome (radio) Show today at 1 p.m. CT. You can listen to it live on **SportsRadio 610 AM**.

Schaub was on SIRIUS NFL Radio this morning around 11, and we're in the process of tracking that interview down so we can post it as a podcast on HoustonTexans.com. Schaub also was on SR 610 this morning at 8 a.m. for his weekly radio show with Marc Vandermeer and John Lopez.

So why all the media love for Schaub? It's simple. He leads the NFL with 14 touchdown passes after a four-touchdown game at Cincinnati. Schaub is second in the league with 1,810 passing yards and has completed 65.3 percent of his passes (ninth) with a 102.7 passer rating (sixth).

Peter King has taken notice of Schaub (with a little coddling from Texans VP of communications Tony Wyllie), mentioning Schaub in his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback column on CNNSI.com. **King puts Schaub and the Texans in a tie for 14th** in his "Fine Fifteen" ranking of NFL teams.

Later in his MMQB, King gives a few Texans not named Matt Schaub some props. He names rookie linebacker Brian Cushing one of his two defensive players of the week (page 3) and gives a shoutout to running back Steve Slaton's receiving ability (page 5) as well as mentioning strong safety Bernard Pollard.

Be sure to tune into Texans TV today at 3:30 p.m. CT to watch Texans coach Gary Kubiak live during his weekly press conference. Schaub is certain to be one of the topics that he discusses.
