With 11:37 left to play in a 34-34 game, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub came back in at quarterback for the AFC. Schaub started the game and played the first two series, throwing for touchdown passes on both, but went to the sidelines and didn't return until this series.
On his first play back, Schaub threw a 17-yard pass to Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson. Four plays later, with the AFC facing a fourth-and-two near midfield, Schaub found Texans receiver Andre Johnson for a seven-yard gain and a first down.
