Smith: "I just felt wanted"

New Texans defensive end Antonio Smith, signed as a free agent from the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, spoke to Phoenix radio station KTAR on Monday about joining the Texans.

"I got a call at midnight of free agency from Tampa Bay," Smith said to hosts KTAR hosts Gambo and Ash. "Next morning, the first team calling was New York (Giants). And then, out of the blue, **the Houston Texans came in and were determined to get me down there** for a visit before I went anywhere else. It just felt good ā€” the environment felt good. The coach is a good person, the GM is a good person, and you got that vibe from them. The main thing, though, was that I just felt wanted."

Smth also discussed having a comfort level with Texans defensive coordinator Frank Bush, playing against the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium next season and having the "strongest right arm in the NFL." **Listen to the interview in its entirety here.**
