The 53-Man Roster | By the Numbers

2 - There are two players with the last name of Collins: Defensive Lineman Maliek Collins and Wide Receiver Nico Collins. There's also a pair of Johnsons in Defensive Back Lonnie Johnson Jr. and Running Back David Johnson. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Defensive Lineman Vincent Taylor also share a same last name.

3 - Three special teamers made the roster in Long Snapper Jon Weeks, Kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn and Punter Cameron Johnston. There are also three quarterbacks on the squad in Taylor, Davis Mills and Deshaun Watson. The tight ends group has a trio of players in Jordan Akins, Pharaoh Brown and Brevin Jordan.

3 - A pair of schools, Ole Miss and TCU, have three players apiece on the Texans. Offensive Lineman Laremy Tunsil, Safety A.J. Moore Jr. and Running Back Scottie Phillips played for Ole Miss. Offensive Lineman Marcus Cannon, Defensive Lineman Ross Blacklock, and Linebacker Garret Wallow went to TCU.

5 - There are five wide receivers and five running backs. Brandin Cooks, Chris Conley, Nico Collins, Anthony Miller and Andre Roberts. The running backs are Mark Ingram II, Phillip Lindsay, David Johnson, Rex Burkhead and Scottie Phillips.

6 - Six linebackers made the squad: Zach Cunningham, Christian Kirksey, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Kamu Grugier-Hill, Neville Hewitt and Garret Wallow.

8 - Up front on the offense, there are eight linemen in Laremy Tunsil, Tytus Howard, Justin Britt, Max Scharping, Charlie Heck, Marcus Cannon, Justin McCray and Geron Christian Jr.

10 - On the defensive front, there are 10 linemen. Whitney Mercilus, Maliek Collins, DeMarcus Walker, Jordan Jenkins, Jonathan Greenard, Jacob Martin, Roy Lopez, Ross Blacklock, Charles Omenihu and Vincent Taylor made the cut.

*10 - There are 10 defensive backs right now, but you can expect Cornerback Bradley Roby back in the fold after Week 1. He's serving a suspension and will be back after contest with the Jaguars. Justin Reid, Lonnie Johnson Jr., Eric Murray, Terrance Mitchell, Vernon Hargreaves III, Desmond King II, Tremon Smith, Terrence Brooks, A.J. Moore Jr. and Tavierre Thomas are in the secondary.

12- Jon Weeks is entering his 12th season as a Houston Texan. He's played in the most games (176) in franchise history and will add to that mark on September 12 when the Texans host the Jaguars to start the regular season.

12 - Receiver/return man Andre Roberts is also entering his 12th year in the NFL. He's played 163 games in that span and is now with his seventh franchise.

30 - There are 30 players on the current 53-man roster who weren't with the Texans last season.

80 - With a height of 80 inches (6-foot-8), Offensive Lineman Charlie Heck is the tallest player on the squad.

9,023 - The number of miles between Houston, TX and Geelong, Australia, which is the hometown of punter Cameron Johnston.
