Breakfast: Safety 1st, as Demps and Hal get INTs

Andre Hal and Quintin Demps were back together in the starting lineup for the first time since Week 12, and they each came up with interceptions in Sunday's win at Indianapolis.

Demps picked off Andrew Luck on a 1st-and-10 in the first quarter. He snared the ball at the Colts' 31-yard line and returned it 15 yards to the Indianapolis 16. It was Demps' third interception of the season, and he leads the team this year in picks.

"Akeem Dent did a good job of getting some hands on the tight end," Demps said of the interception. "Luck threw it up, and I was able to pick it."

The Texans would get points off the turnover a few plays later when Nick Novak's 21-yard field goal equalized the score at 3-3.

Hal, meanwhile, got his interception on the third play of the second half, also in Colts' territory.

Luck was errant on his throw to Jack Doyle, and Hal came up with the pick at the Indianapolis 42-yard line. He scampered 24 yards to the Colts' 18-yard line, and a few plays later the Texans extended their lead to 16-3 after another Novak field goal.

"I was in the right place at the right time and he threw it right to me," Hal said of his second interception in 2016.

The third-year veteran was active in Green Bay, but didn't play in the loss to the Packers. He'd missed a pair of practices the week leading up to it with an illness. His return on Sunday in Indianapolis was a welcome one for the Texans defense, and Demps let him know.

"I told him before the game started, 'I missed you'," Demps said. "He missed the game in Green Bay, so it was good to get him back for sure."

Hal, who also broke up a pair of passes, was very thankful to be back out on the field, and not the sidelines.

"Man I'm so grateful God gave me the opportunity to go back out there and play," Hal said. "Missing that last game hurt me, seeing my boys go out there and play without me. Glad to be back out there."

Hal, Demps and the Texans will host the Jaguars next Sunday at NRG Stadium.
