BWTB: Big stories from another strange loss

!

It all started with a salute to the military led by J.J. Watt running out of the tunnel carrying an American flag. Toro ziplined into Reliant Stadium wearing camoflauge pants. A bald eagle soared from the rafters. Two former presidents, George Bush senior and George W. Bush, were honorary captains for the coin toss. Two undrafted rookies, Case Keenum and Matt McGloin faced off in a game that was filled with injuries on both sides. Head coach Gary Kubiak was back from suffering a mini-stroke just two weeks ago, albeit calling plays from the press box upstairs. It would all pale in comparison to the bizarre events leading up to Houston's eighth-straight loss.

Gary Kubiak orchestrated an unexpected quarterback switch from Keenum to Matt Schaub. Find out why and what Keenum and Schaub thought of the switch.

Schaub's incomplete pass to Andre Johnson on fourth-and-goal of the Texans' final possession ended in an argument between the two veterans. Johnson headed into the locker room after the heated exchange. Schaub and Johnson both spoke about it after the game.

On the side:

Despite the loss, Houston had a record-breaking afternoon. The Texans had two players pass for more than 150 yards in the same game for the first time in franchise history. Keenum threw for 170 yards and Schaub threw for 155 yards.

Houston also had two players with more than 100 yards receiving in the same game for the seventh time in franchise history and first time since 2011. Garrett Graham had 136 yards receiving and Johnson had 116 yards receiving.

The Texans' special teams also had their first punt return for a touchdown in over two years. Keshawn Martin had a season-best 187 yards in returns (125 punt return/62 kick return), along with his first-career touchdown on a punt return.
