Memorial Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Having grew up near an Army base in Fort Rucker, Alabama, I have a deep affinity for the men and women who make great sacrifices so that we can all enjoy the freedoms our country provides.
The interaction of the military and sports has always been strong, and professional teams continue to show great support not only this day, but others throughout the year. The Houston Texans, for instance, honored a military member at each home game this past season, a great way to honor our heroes and continue to thank them for their service.
