Texans players react to Alabama-Ohio State championship | Daily Brew

Like the rest of college football fans, Houston Texans players enjoyed the 2021 National College Football Playoff Championship game between Alabama and Ohio State on Monday night. Several took to Twitter to share their reactions throughout the game as the Crimson Tide routed the Buckeyes 52-24 on their way to a sixth title under Nick Saban.

Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith missed most of the second half with a hand injury, but not before racking up 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns and tons of praise for his performance.

Quarterback AJ McCarron, who led Alabama to back-to-back BCS National Championships in 2011 and 2012, was is a huge fan of the Heisman winner.

But he certainly wasn't the the only one impressed with Smith.

McCarron is the only Alabama alum on the Texans roster. Ohio State has two former players in Houston, cornerbacks Bradley Roby (2011-13) and Gareon Conley (2014-16).
