The holidays are upon us…

This might surprise some people, but I didn't ask for anything for Christmas. That doesn't mean I won't receive anything from friends and family. It just means that there's nothing material that I want. Give me some wins these last two weeks, and I'll be more than happy.

Anyways, I guess the surprise is ruined, but I already know some of the presents I'm going to receive. My girlfriend bought me a Steve Ray Vaughn box set. I'm really excited about that.

But to tell you the truth, I have more fun buying gifts than I do receiving them. I've already bought a Led Zeppelin box set, a PSP and some jewelry for my mom. My dad is waiting for his gift. He's putting his Christmas present in the bank. He's going to buy a car in March. So that will be nice.

I know each family has their own holiday traditions. My favorite tradition is opening all the presents on Christmas Eve. I don't know why we started doing that, maybe because I was complaining so much about getting presents when I was younger. I also love waking up early on Christmas morning and eating a good breakfast. That was it. My family would just sit around all day watching football after that. It definitely is one of life's simple pleasures.

As you guys probably know, NFL schedules require teams to play either on or around Christmas each year. This Sunday will be Christmas Eve. So as you might imagine, it's a little difficult to spend a traditional holiday with the family when you're preparing to play a game or you're on the road.

Fortunately, this year we finish the season at home. In the past, when I was playing in Baltimore, my family has come to see me. This year, I'm going solo. My family isn't big on flying, so we're going to get together in January and celebrate the holidays then.

Even though none of my family is going to be in town this weekend, I did buy a Christmas tree, a little six-footer. Nothing big. It's a fake tree. But I like it.

Of course, I'll be able to enjoy the tree a little more on Monday knowing we got the first win in franchise history against the Colts.

I want to wish all of you guys out there happy holidays.

Take care,

Anthony **
