Patriots Defensive Coordinator DeMarcus Covington on the Texans Offense: "Great offense. Another West Coast philosophy. (Quarterback C.J.) Stroud and company, all of the receivers, Tank (Dell), (Stefon) Diggs, who we're familiar with him being in our division for the past couple years, and then, don't take away the offensive line. Definitely they bring a good challenge. They're the number one passing offense. Good in time of possession, all of those different things."
Patriots Raekwon McMillan on Texans Quarterback C.J. Stroud: "He's been doing a good job ever since he got in the league. Incredible arm and he's got some weapons out there on the edge and in the backfield. It's just an overall great offense.
Patriots Defensive Lineman Deatrich Wise on Stroud: "C.J. is a good quarterback. He's doing a great job moving the ball for this team the last two years. It's going to be very similar to how we play most quarterbacks: keeping him in the pocket and affecting his throwing abilities."
Covington on Texans Tight End Dalton Schultz: "He's a combo player. A run game and pass game player. They'll line him up in different places. So you've got to have eyes on him and see where he lines up. He's kind of like in the mold of where you can put him at fullback. You can put him out there and line him up at receiver. You can put him at in-line tight end."
Covington on the Texans offensive line: "They fly off the ball. They do a good job of getting to the second level. They do a good job with the combination blocks on the first level. What they do is similar to what Miami and San Fran do, and they do a good job building the front where you get quick linemen who can move very well and create movement up front.
Covington on Texans Left Tackle Laremy Tunsil: "I know him personally, and what he can do in the game. He's a Pro Bowl player for a reason, whether it's the pass game or the run game."
Covington on Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans: "I'm proud of him. The success. A black head coach in the National Football League. The success he's doing and what he's done with that team, I'm proud of him and I look up to what he's doing over there."
Patriots Offensive Coordinator Alex Van Pelt on the Texans Defense: "It's challenging, obviously. That's a strong, strong defense. They do a great job with their scheme as well as with their players. But at the same time, somewhat basic on first and second down. But oh my gosh, when you get to third down, they're coming from everywhere. They have every conceivable package of structures of defense and they bring all their guys. Big challenge for us from a protection standpoint.
Covington on the Texans Defense: "Man, they fly around. Get those guys playing hard. Good pass rush. Good defense."
Patriots Offensive Lineman Nick Leverett on the Texans Defense: "Definitely a good Front-7. You've got 51 (Will Anderson, Jr.) and 55 (Danielle Hunter) on the edge, definitely two great edge rushers. Their interior is pretty stout. Their linebackers fly."
Van Pelt on Texans defensive ends Will Anderson, Jr. and Danielle Hunter: "They're very talented edge rushers. We've got to make sure we handle those edges. It's almost like having two guys like Bosa on the edges, so you've got to make sure we're taking care of the edges."
