Tiffany at the Pro Bowl

Aloha Tiffany!! And Mahalo!

As most of you know, we were proud to have Tiffany represent our squad at the 2007 Pro Bowl this past weekend. (Read Tiffany's Pro Bowl diary here.) But you may not know how she prepared for such a unique experience!

First of all, a little background on how the cheerleaders are selected for the Pro Bowl. Each squad selects one girl to represent their team in Hawaii. We all voted, based on personality, dance ability, and the all-around capability to represent our squad and what we stand for. I was sitting next to Tiffany when she found out that she was selected, and a mixture of shock, excitement, and appreciation took over her.

"I was so happy when I found out that I didn't know whether to laugh or cry," she said. "Being selected as a Pro Bowl cheerleader is a huge honor that I only dreamt of. I am so honored that this year my teammates chose me. I am truly blessed by my team. I keep pinching myself to make sure that I'm not dreaming!"

Tiffany did lots to prepare for her trip even before she started packing.

"I've been running 30-40 miles a week," she said. "And I'm also doing weight training."

And what you don't get to see on TV is all of the dancing that the cheerleaders do. (Watch this video of Tiffany on the field at the Pro Bowl!) While we have months to prepare together for the season, these girls have only a matter of days. So a lot of preparation is done ahead of time.

"We also had to learn 12 dances and have them ready to be performed," Tiffany said. "I had a photo shoot to make my own personal autograph cards, and I had to have my biography, resume, references, and any other paperwork information all organized and ready to go."

And packing itself can be quite a challenge! Tiffany took all of her uniforms with her, as well as beach wear, business attire, etc., etc.! But she wanted to take a few sentimental items as well.

"I took several things special to me like my original uniform and my Texans ring," she said.

One of the reasons we selected Tiffany was because of her unending love for other people. And she kept this up even in Hawaii.

"One special thing that was really important to me was to send postcards to my students while I was there," she told me. "As a P.E. teacher, I teach every student in the entire school. I wanted to send each class a postcard from Hawaii telling them about my trip. Kids love to get mail, and I think they will like to know that even though I'm far away, I am still thinking about them."

Tiff, we were thinking about you, too! Thank you for being such a fantastic representative of our team! We love you and welcome you home!

**Trivia Time!!

**Okay, even though my last trivia question was a really long time ago, here's the answer! My question was: Which girl says that the toughest part about a being a cheerleader is 'thinking about how fast the season is going to pass?'" The answer is... Vanessa! Yes, the season passes very quickly! Which is why we all enjoy every minute of it!

And don't forget that Valentine's Day is this Wednesday! If you haven't gotten your honey a gift yet, you can give them "Sweets from some Sweeties!" On Wednesday, the cheerleaders will be delivering chocolates and other Texans goodies to area businesses. Click**here**** for more information!
