AFC South voices speak | Daily Brew

It's always fun and enlightening to catch up with the fellow team voices of the AFC South and last week at the NFL Scouting Combine brought on more interesting visits.

The interviews can be heard on Friday and Tuesday’s Texans All Access shows, but here are some of the takeaways…

The Texans are the only team with total transparency as to who the starting quarterback will be. This is the third-consecutive pre-free agency period in which that is the case. For four straight seasons prior to this run, we really didn't know who would be taking the snaps on opening day.

The Jaguars have Gardner Minshew and Nick Foles, but no one is saying how that situation will play out. The Colts have Jacoby Brissett but they've been in the rumor mill for Philip Rivers and who knows who else. And the Titans still would have to sign Ryan Tannehill to make sure he's under center in September. Other options could be in the pipeline.

Mike Keith, voice of the Titans, enjoyed their run to the AFC championship game, their first since the Steve McNair era. He feels they have a good nucleus to do it again, but everyone understands the situation at quarterback and the uncertainty around free-agent-to-be running back Derrick Henry.

Colts voice Matt Taylor discussed the struggles of 2019 yet points out there's a good core group of players in Indy. But the QB situation remains a big question mark.

And Frank Frangie, who calls Jags games, talked to us about a lot of what's going on with Jacksonville playing two London games and how the roster is in flux, with some key signings to make and a quarterback recipe to commit to.

All three of the voices felt the Texans had the goods to win the division again and all three acknowledged that the AFC South is among the top three divisions in the NFL.

It'll be another compelling season.
