Benson re-signs with Bengals

Free agent running back Cedric Benson [**re-signed with the

**](http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/6291686.html), the Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports. Benson visited the Texans on Monday and was being looked at as a potential complement to Steve Slaton, but he signed a two-year, $7 million contract with Cincinnati instead. The former University of Texas star started 10 games for the Bengals last season. He is expected to be their starter again in 2009.
