Breakfast: Whitney Mercilus sets new career high

Whitney Mercilus broke a personal record on Sunday.

With five quarterback hits on Minnesota's Sam Bradford, the outside linebacker set a single-game career high.

He also tallied 1.5 sacks in the game, dropping Bradford on a third down in the second quarter, and combining with Antonio Smith for a half-sack of Bradford near the Vikings' goal line in the first quarter.

On the season, Mercilus has 3.5 sacks and now has tallied 33.5 in his five-year career.

Mercilus also registered a tackle for loss in the game, and finished with three total tackles.

The Texans faced the Vikings in a week 5 matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium.
