Brian Cushing breaks Texans all-time tackles mark

Brian Cushing is the Texans tackles king.

The inside linebacker brought down Frank Gore after a 4-yard gain in the third quarter, for the 637th stop of his career. Linebacker DeMeco Ryans, who roamed the middle of the Texans defense from 2006 through 2011, was the previous franchise leader with 636.

The 2016 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee, Cushing was the team's first-round draft pick in 2009. He won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award and led the Texans in tackles that year, as well as in 2011 and 2015.

His first tackle of the game came in combination with Corey Moore on a one-yard run by Frank Gore late in the first quarter.

He followed that up with a stop of T.Y. Hilton in the second quarter, and his third tackle of the contest was in combination with Benardrick McKinney a few pass plays later in the half.
