Bucs take 3-0 lead on game's first drive

The Buccaneers took a 3-0 lead over the Texans with 9:15 left in the first quarter. Here's how it happened:

The drive: 11 plays, 59 yards, 5:45. Ended with a 38-yard field goal by Connor Barth.

The score: Barth came on for the field goal on fourth-and-four from the Houston 19-yard line and nailed it through the uprights.

The set-up: Texans kicker Kris Brown booted the opening kickoff 67 yards to the Houston three-yard line, where it was returned for 19 yards before linebacker Isaiah Greenhouse made the tackle on special teams. From there, quarterback Rudy Carpenter was 3-of-5 passing for 47 yards. Running back Keith Huggins had four carries for 11 yards, and rookie wide receiver Arrelious Benn picked up six yards on a reverse. Texans cornerback Jacques Reeves notched a pass defensed on third-and-four from the 19 to bring on the field goal unit.

The big play: Carpenter to Michael Spurlock for 19 yards. It was the third play from scrimmage, on third-and-five from the Tampa Bay 27.
