Burnett signs with Chargers

Free agent linebacker Kevin Burnett, who visited the Texans on March 5, signed with the San Diego Chargers on Tuesday. Burnett agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million deal that inclued $4 million in guaranteed money, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com.

Burnett, 26, was a four-year backup for the Dallas Cowboys. The Texans were looking at him as possible depth for their young linebacker corps, which was beset by injuries to starters Zac Diles and Xavier Adibi last season.
