Comfort the key factor in Orlovsky signing

New Texans quarterback Dan Orlovsky, who **signed with the team as a free agent from the Detroit Lions**, just got done speaking to the Houston media in an introductory press conference at Reliant Stadium. He had an upcoming visit scheduled with the Denver Broncos, but said that the main reason he signed with the Texans was that he felt comfortable with Houston head coach Gary Kubiak and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

"I'm really hungry to get coached," Orlovsky said. "Coach Kubiak carries a reputation with quarterbacks."

Orlovsky, 25, showed strong upside in seven starts for Detroit last season. He is five years younger than Sage Rosenfels, his predecessor as the Texans' backup to Matt Schaub.
