Day 3 is over

  • Following the afternoon practice, we spoke with rookie receiver/return man Trindon Holliday for a **1-on-1 Texans TV interview**. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Holliday's "excelled" in the special teams aspect of his job, but needs to get better catching the football as a receiver. Holliday echoed Kubiak's evaluation and said the receiving part of the game is tougher. But he did light up when asked about the fan reaction to his returns, comparing it to his days at LSU when he electrified the Death Valley crowds.
  • Also, for the third straight afternoon, defensive tackle Frank Okam batted down a pass.
  • Quarterback Dan Orlovsky and receiver Jacoby Jones connected on a pretty deep ball down the right sideline, and Jones was able to stay in bounds for what would have been a 40-yard gain.
  • At one end of the sidelines in the Methodist Training Center, there was a contingent of players' family members who stayed and watched the entire practice.
