DeAndre Hopkins now has the most receiving yards by any Texans receiver in his first four seasons.
Hopkins needed just 31 yards to pass Andre Johnson (3,953 from 2003-06) who previously held the record. The Texans Pro Bowl receiver said he was not aware of the milestone he reached following a 14-yard catch in the second quarter of Sunday's game against Detroit, but to surpass Johnson is something he doesn't take lightly.
"That's big," Hopkins said after the game. "He's definitely a future Hall of Famer, so to surpass what he's done in four years—words really downgrade the feeling."
With his third catch of the game, Hopkins recorded 36 yards receiving to surpass Johnson. Hopkins finished with four catches for 44 yards in the Texans 20-13 win over the Lions.
