Duane Brown expects Week 1 return from thumb injury

Duane Brown has missed the last two preseason games, wearing a cast on his right hand, but expects to be back in time for Week 1 of the regular season.

"It's a thumb injury but nothing really serious, no surgery involved," Brown said Thursday. "It's been healing very rapidly and I'll be fine for Kansas City."

Brown hasn't missed a game since the 2013 season when he suffered turf toe and was inactive for two games. The All-Pro left tackle has started all 16 games in five out of his seven seasons in the NFL.

"I hate sitting out of these preseason games," Brown said. "Live action, when it counts, against an opponent like that, it's very important for me to be out there."

The Texans will host the Chiefs on Sunday, September 13 with kickoff scheduled for 12 noon on CBS KHOU-11 and SportsRadio 610.
