Earl conference call

Texans fourth-round pick S Glenn Earl

(on thoughts about being drafted and knowing where he's going) "I'm just glad it's all over and now I can move on and get down there and do my thing."

(on the Texans) "I don't know a whole lot but I'm definitely a huge football fan. So I know probably more than a lot of people. I'm very eager to learn the ins and outs and meet everybody."

(on playing Texans' TE Benny Joppru) "I think a couple times. I believe his last year we played at Notre Dame. He's a good player. I remember that. That'll be a cool little reunion. We'll have to go at it in practice a little bit."

(on adding depth to the Texans' secondary) "I'm looking to do whatever they ask me to do. I'm looking to come in and be locked in to whatever responsibility they looking for me to do. It'll be interesting. I'm sure that special teams will be my main focus off the bat, but looking to get whatever I have."

(on playing free or strong safety) "I play both. It's all the same to me."

(on his left knee injury) "I tore my ACL and LCL in the USC game. It's been a grind. I've been hitting it hard the last five months just to get my knee back to where it needs to be."

(on what the doctors have said about the knee) "I'm not sure about the specifics on that. I have a check with the doctors very soon. I'm basically looking to be full go in about a month or so. My knee is feeling great. It's all about getting all my strength back. I'm very optimistic. I definitely see myself full go come the season."
