Former Texan gets a rose on "The Bachelorette" season premiere

Former Texans wide receiver Eazy Nwachukwu is hoping to catch the attention of Clare Crawley on Season 16 of "The Bachelorette."

Wearing a three-piece salmon-colored suite, he certainly caught the attention of fans, with lots of camera time and reaction shots to an always "dramatic" cocktail party and rose ceremony.

Eazy, short for Uzoma and formerly spelled EZ, made his debut on Tuesday night's season premiere and landed himself a rose, avoiding elimination on the first night. Stepping out of the limo, he made his entrance crashing through a large backdrop that read "Future Husband."

"I thought the entrance would be easy, but turns out that's just my name," Eazy said, punctuating his joke with finger guns shooting.

Eazy could become a fan favorite if he sticks around with sense of humor and charisma. He also checked off the first rule of Bachelorette intro night, making sure he got his 1-on-1 time getting to know Crawley before she got distracted by inevitable man-on-man drama.

Nwachukwu signed with the Texans as a college free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft and spent two seasons on the practice squad before being cut in 2015. The former Texas A&M standout is now a 29-year-old sports marketing agent in Newport Beach, California.

Season 16 of "The Bachelorette" airs on Tuesday nights on ABC-13.
