Four roster cuts coming today

The Texans will have to cut four players today to get down to the 75-man roster limit, which goes into effect around the league today. The limit for players on the active roster had been 80 up until today.

The next and final round of league-wide roster cuts will come this Saturday, the day after the Texans' final preseason game at Tampa Bay. The Texans will have to cut their roster down to 53 players at that point.

Today's 75-man roster limit applies to the active roster. There is also an 80-man total roster limit that includes players on injured reserve. The Texans have only four players on IR, so they'll be under that 80-man limit when they trim their roster to 75. The 80-man total limit remains throughout the regular season.

If the roster cuts are not announced earlier, Texans coach Gary Kubiak will likely be discussing them during his 3:30 p.m. press conference. Watch it live on **Texans TV**.
