Game blog: Texans @ Cardinals

The Texans' comeback at Arizona **fell inches short** as the Cardinals made a goal line stand to prevail 28-21. Texans coach Gary Kubiak will address the media tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. CT during his weekly press conference. Watch it live on Texans TV.

From the press box- 3:48 p.m. PSTHOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!! A few weeks ago, CBS play-by-play guy Gus Johnson gave Andre Johnson the nickname of 'Zeus'. It's a fitting descripition, because the Texans wide receiver just added another touchdown to his highlight reel, and the score is now tied at 21-21. AMAZING!!!!

From the press box- 3:35 p.m. PSTAndre Johnson make a great effort after catching the ball and got into the end zone for an 11-yard score to make it 21-14 Cardinals.Capped an 8-play, 77-yard drive that took 3:16. Johnson has 6 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.

From the press box- 3:14 p.m. PSTRB Chris Brown bangs in a 1-yard TD run to get the Texans on the scoreboard. Capped off a 10-play, 64-yard drive that chewed 5:54 off the clock. It's Brown's first TD since the 2007 season.

From the press box- 2:57 p.m. PSTOn 4th-and-1 at the 22, Schaub incomplete to Johnson in the back of the end zone. Cardinals take over with 10:55 remaining in 10:55.

From the press box- 2:38 p.m. PSTThe first half is over and the Texans are down 21-0. The Cardinals have 18 first downs to the Texans' 5. 262 passing yards for Arizona, while the Texans have just 92 yards.

From the press box- 2:34 p.m. PSTAnother Fitzgerald touchdown, this one from 26-yards out, makes it 21-0 Cardinals with 0:21 left in the opening half.

From the press box- 2:25 p.m. PSTLarry Fitzgerald hauls in a 9-yard pass from Kurt Warner for a touchdown. Texans trailing 14-0 with 1:44 left in half.

From the press box-2:03 p.m. PSTGlover Quin brought the lumber to Tim Hightower on 3rd-and-7, and the Cards had to punt. Speaking of lumber, FB Vonta Leach caught a pass from Schaub and rumbled up the left sideline for a gain of 20, taking a pair of Arizona defenders out of bounds with them. Texans had to punt though. 1st-and10 Cardinals at their own 19, with 9:28 left in the first half.

From the press box-1:55 p.m. PSTCalais Campbell blocked Kris Brown's 35-yard FG attempt and kept the Texans off the scoreboard. Still 7-0 Cardinals, with 13:22 left in the first half.

From the press box-1:49 p.m. PSTThe first quarter is over, the Texans are marching and will resume play in the second with a 2nd-and-6 at the Cardinals' 29. Steve Slaton just picked up 16 yards a few plays ago, and he's now rushed for more than 1,500 yards in his young career.

From the press box-1:45 p.m. PSTHUGE play by the defense. Eugene Wilson popped the ball loose from Anquan Boldin inside the 5-yard line, DeMeco Ryans was there to scoop it up and scooted 29 yards up the field. Play was challenged, but it's Texans football, 1st-and-10 at their own 30, with 2:24 left in the opening quarter.

From the press box-1:35 p.m. PSTAside from a 12-yard completion to Andre Johnson, the Texans offense couldn't get going on its 2nd possession, and was forced to punt again. Arizona sets up shop with a 1st-and-10 at their own 13, with 7:02 left in 1st quarter.

From the press box-1:28 p.m. PSTThe Cardinals capped off an impressive 8-play, 64-yard drive with a 1-yard Tim Hightower TD run. Arizona did all its work on first and second downs, never facing a 3rd down situation. 7-0 home team.

Tough start for the Texans. Matt Schaub fumbles the first snap, then Houston goes 3-and-out.

From the press box-12:13 p.m. PSTDefensive end Mario Williams (shoulder) is active for the Texans. Rookie cornerback Glover Quin will start for Jacques Reeves, while defensive tackle Shaun Cody will start for DelJuan Robinson.

The following players are inactive for the Texans: quarterback Dan Orlovsky, safety Nick Ferguson, tight end Anthony Hill, center Antoine Caldwell, cornerback Antwaun Molden, defensive tackle Frank Okam, wide receiver Glenn Martinez and Robinson.
