Hightower takes job at UM

Former Texans special teams assistant Richard Hightower was **announced as the University of Minnesota's new wide receivers coach** on Tuesday. Hightower joins the staff of Golden Gophers head coach Tim Brewster, who was the tight ends coach at Texas from 1998-2001. Hightower played receiver, cornerback and special teams for the Longhorns from 1999-2002.

Hightower was the Texans' special teams assistant under Joe Marciano in 2008 after spending two years as the team's defensive assistant. He got his start with the Texans as a corporate sales intern in 2004. Last season, special teams ace Antwaun Molden told me that Hightower was instrumental in his development as a rookie; Hightower frequently spent extra time instructing Molden after practice.

Congratulations to a first-class person and a tireless worker; he will be missed by the Texans.
