Houston Texans and United Airlines Serving Those who Serve | Daily Brew

On February 4, the United Service Organizations (USO) will commemorate 80 years of supporting America's military service members and their families.

To celebrate the USO's 80th birthday, the Houston Texans, in partnership with United Airlines, provided lunch for 100 service members on Thursday. Boxed lunches were distributed at Rankin Road Armory, which houses units from the National Guard and Army Reserve.

The event was part of the United Airlines and Houston Texans "Serving Those Who Serve" program. This program provides meals for service members throughout the year. Last year, the program provided meals for military families who were displaced by Hurricane Laura and lunch for service members on Veteran's Day at the USO Lounge at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Since their establishment in 1941, the USO has adapted with the evolving needs of the military by developing resources and initiatives to tackle everything from employment challenges for military spouses and retiring service members to prolonged periods of isolation during COVID-19.
