Victory Monday, Part 5 | Daily Brew

This Victory Monday thing is NOT getting old. At all.

We're into the middle of October, and only once in the last six Mondays have woken up after a Texans loss the day prior.

Yesterday, Houston beat down the Patriots, in New England, peeling off 27 second half points to triumph, 41-21.

As he always does, Team Analyst/Radio Sideline Reporter John Harris wrote his "Big Play Breakdown".

When he's healthy, all Joe Mixon does is bust out 100-yard games. The veteran running back was a monster in the Week 1 win at Indianapolis, racking up 159 yards on 30 carries. On Sunday in New England, he went for 102 yards on 13 carries, and also caught a pair of passes for 30 yards. He scored once on the ground, and caught another touchdown. It was good to have Mixon back in the fold.

Further, it was the first win in franchise history in Foxborough. Longtime NFL Columnist John McClain wrote about that here.

The defense took the ball away four times, sacked rookie Drake Maye four times, and made life miserable all around for the Patriots.

One of the lynchpins in that defensive effort: defensive end Will Anderson, Jr. He led the Texans with eight total tackles, four tackles for a loss, three sacks and a batted pass that wound up getting intercepted by Eric Murray.
