CJS10492

The Houston Texans brought the excitement of game day to the classroom as they teamed up with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Creative Minds Publications for the 10th Annual Tackle Reading event, celebrating Dr. Seuss's 122nd birthday while encouraging young students to develop a love for reading.

This year's celebration took place at Mading Elementary School, where Houston Texans Legend Wade Smith, TORO, and members of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders joined students for a morning filled with literacy-driven fun and Dr. Seuss–inspired activities.

The highlight of the event came when Wade Smith read the classic "The Cat in the Hat" to a group of enthusiastic 2nd grade students, bringing the beloved story to life and reinforcing the importance of reading both in and out of the classroom.

Students also enjoyed interactive activities centered around the Dr. Seuss theme, creating an energetic and memorable experience that celebrated imagination, storytelling, and learning.

To keep the momentum going long after the event ended, each student received their own copy of "The Cat in the Hat", giving them the opportunity to continue reading at home and share the story with family and friends.

Through programs like Tackle Reading, the Houston Texans continue their commitment to supporting education and inspiring young readers throughout the Houston community.
