Important Numbers Going into Week 7 | Daily Brew

The Packers are coming to Houston for the first time in eight years, so let's go by the numbers for this matchup with Green Bay on Sunday.

1 - The Texans have played the Green Bay Packers three times since Aaron Rodgers took over as the starting quarterback. Houston has just one win in that time frame as a last second Chris Brown field goal earned the Texans a 24-21 win in 2008.

1 - J.J. Watt needs just one more sack to reach 100 sacks in his career. He'll become the 35th player in NFL history to reach the century mark. The record for sacks in a career is held by longtime Buffalo Bills star Bruce Smith with 200.

1 - There's only one active player in the NFL with more passing yards than Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson; that would be Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. There's another player above them both but Cowboys star Dak Prescott is out for the remainder of the season with a lower leg injury.

1 - the spot for Deshaun Watson in the AFC, based on 100 passing attempts or more, for average completed air yards. Watson is averaging 7.8 CAY which trails only Minnesota's Kirk Cousins' 8.4 CAY in the entire NFL.

1 - Linebacker Zach Cunningham is the number one tackler in the AFC. He leads the conference in total tackles with 60.

1 - the number of interceptions the Texans have this season. The defense finally got off the schneid as cornerback Bradley Roby reeled in his first interception of the season and the team's first of the year at Tennessee last weekend. The Texans had not recorded an interception since the win over Tampa Bay in December 2019. Roby had one that day that turned into a pick six, but it was the last day the Texans had a pick until last Sunday.

1 - the number of players who have thrown a pass for the Texans this year not named Deshaun Watson. Last week, former Kentucky quarterback Randall Cobb lofted one for the end zone that was just outside the reach of fellow receiver Will Fuller V, falling to the turf incomplete.

1 - the number of passes Randall Cobb has completed in his NFL career. With that attempt last week against Tennessee, Cobb has thrown four times and completed one pass for ten yards for the Packers against Detroit in 2017.

1 - the number of players on each side that played multiple years for the opponent. Randall Cobb obviously is that player for the Texans who played eight years for the Packers. Running back Tyler Ervin is that player for the Packers who started his career with the Texans; unfortunately, Tyler will not play on Sunday due to injury.

Alright, that's going to do it for now as we start to get ready for the Packers to arrive on Sunday. See ya then, everyone!
