Jackson's high school jersey retired

Texans first-round draft pick Kareem Jackson's No. 5 jersey was retired at Westside High School in Macon, Ga., on Tuesday. He also was given a key to the school during a ceremony at its gymnasium, as detailed by his hometown newspaper the Macon (Ga.) Telegraph.

Jackson was a star running back at Westside, running for 1,436 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior, before starting for three seasons as a cornerback at Alabama.

According to the Telegraph, Jackson will train in Boca Raton, Fla., next week in preparation for organized team activities in Houston on May 17.
