Lamar Miller is having a season

Lamar Miller rushed for over 100 yards, plus a touchdown, in Sunday's 22-17 win in Indianapolis. The Texans starting running back reached a major milestone with his performance, a 1,000-yard season for just the second time in his NFL career.

"It means a lot," Miller said. "Without the offensive line I wouldn't have the opportunity to reach 1,000 yards and for a running back that's always a great individual performance. I just give credit to the offensive line."

Miller, who reached 1,099 yards in 2014 with the Miami Dolphins, is on pace to have the best season of his NFL career with three games remaining.

"Yes, of course that was one of my decisions coming here," Miller said. "It's a winning organization and I just wanted to be a part of that. We just have to keep it up. Just keep fighting. Just doing our assignment. Come in with the same mentality we did this past week and just keep it going."

But it hasn't come easy for Miller. Despite playing with injuries in four different areas of his body this season, Miller has not missed a start in 12 games.

"I can't say enough about that guy," Duane Brown said. "I love that dude. He's put his body on the line week in, week out. He takes some shots out there and he always gets up, shakes it off and does it again. I'm just happy he's on our side. Happy to be blocking for him."

In Sunday's critical division game against the Colts, Miller had 107 rushing yards on 21 carries to catapult him to 1,010 yards for the season. Miller rushed for His two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave the Texans a 10-3 lead over the Colts.

"He is the definition of a pro," head coach Bill O'Brien said. "A professional football player is somebody that really understands the difference between injury and pain at the end of a season and can grind through it. That is Lamar."

Miller has scored five touchdowns this season, four rushing and one receiving. He also has four 100-yard rushing games this season. He currently ranks third in the AFC in carries (246) and yards rushing (1,010).

The Texans and Colts squared off at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 14.
