THE TEXANS…

  • Earned their second preseason win under Head Coach David Culley and improved their record to 2-0 this preseason
  • Gained 220 total net yards (89 rushing, 131 passing) and 13 first downs (seven rushing, six passing, zero by penalty)
  • Forced four turnover (three interceptions, one fumble recovery) and did not turn the ball over for a turnover differential of plus-four. Houston has now caused a total of seven turnovers this preseason
  • Compiled five sacks and eight quarterback hits as a team. Houston also had nine different players record a tackle for loss
  • Held the Cowboys scoreless in the second half and allowed Dallas to rush for just 29 yards after halftime

SCORING PLAYS

  • 1st Quarter – RB Mark Ingram II scored on a two-yard run following a seven-play, 23-yard opening drive (2:58) to give Houston a 7-0 lead. K Ka'imi Fairbairn made the extra point attempt
  • 3rd Quarter – DB Lonnie Johnson Jr. intercepted a pass from Cowboys QB Ben DiNucci and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown to tie the game at 14-14. K Ka'imi Fairbairn made the extra point attempt
  • 4th Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn converted a 38-yard field goal capping off an eight-play, 70-yard drive (4:15) to give Houston a 17-14 lead
  • 4th Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn converted a 24-yard field goal following a nine-play, 45-yard drive (2:53) to give Houston a 20-14 lead

  • The following Texans players did not play in the game: OL Marcus Cannon, WR Nico Collins, DL Jonathan Greenard, WR Anthony Miller, DB A.J. Moore Jr., WR Andre Roberts, OL Lane Taylor, OL Laremy Tunsil and QB Deshaun Watson
  • Houston won the toss and elected to defer. The Cowboys received the first half kickoff.
  • DL Whitney Mercilus served as the Texans coin toss captain.

WR KEKE COUTEE

  • Recorded two receptions for 29 yards (14.5 avg.)
  • Caught a 25-yard pass from QB Davis Mills in the fourth quarter

LB TAE DAVIS

  • Finished tied for second on the team with four total tackles and had one tackle for loss

QB JEFF DRISKEL

  • Strip-sacked Cowboys QB Garrett Gilbert on the first drive of the game. Texans DL Charles Omenihu recovered the fumble at the Dallas 23-yard line

QB DAVIS MILLS

  • Completed 10-of-16 passes (62.5 percent) for 115 yards and an 84.1 rating
  • Threw a 25-yard pass to WR Keke Coutee in the fourth quarter

WR CHRIS MOORE

  • Recorded two receptions for 33 yards (16.7 avg.)

DL CHARLES OMENIHU

  • Recorded three tackles (three solo), 2.0 sacks, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and one fumble recovery
