TEXANS TEAM NOTES

THE TEXANS

  • Forced a season-high five turnovers in the game, the ninth time in franchise history reaching the mark and first since Dec. 21, 2019, at Tampa Bay
  • Forced a fumble on special teams for the first time since Oct. 14, 2018 vs. Buffalo
  • Recorded four sacks for the second consecutive game, tying a season high, after also doing so in Week 8 vs. the Los Angeles Rams

SCORING PLAYS:

  • 2nd Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn connected on a 31-yard field goal attempt, capping off a seven-play, 20-yard drive (3:21), cutting the Dolphins lead to 7-3
  • 2nd Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn converted a 40-yard field goal attempt, concluding a four-play, one-yard drive (0:58), reducing the Dolphins lead to 7-6
  • 4th Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn connected on a 20-yard field goal attempt, finishing a 14-play, 92-yard drive (5:40), cutting the Dolphins lead to 17-9

WR DANNY AMENDOLA

  • Finished second on the team with 49 receiving yards, recording three catches with a long of 39 yards

DL MALIEK COLLINS

  • Finished with two tackles, a half-sack, one fumble recovery and his first career interception
  • Shared a sack of QB Jacoby Brissett for a loss of 12 yards with DL Jordan Jenkins in the second quarter, improving his season sack total to 1.5
  • Recorded his first career interception on a tipped pass from QB Jacoby Brissett in the third quarter
  • Recovered a fumble forced by DL Jacob Martin in the fourth quarter, his sixth career fumble recovery and first as a Texan

WR BRANDIN COOKS

  • Led the team with six catches for 56 yards (9.3 avg.)
  • Made his 100th career start and surpassed 7,500 career receiving yards

LB ZACH CUNNINGHAM

  • Finished tied for second on the team with eight tackles (two solo), also tallying one quarterback hit

K KA'IMI FAIRBAIRN

  • Scored nine points and connected on three-of-three field goal attempts, his most made field goals this season
  • Converted a 31-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter to cut Miami's lead to 7-3
  • Hit a 40-yard field goal in the second quarter, reducing Miami's lead to 7-6
  • Connected on a 20-yard field goal attempt in the fourth quarter to cut Miami's lead to 17-9
  • Has connected on 55 consecutive field goal attempts inside of 40 yards, dating back to the 2017 season

DL JONATHAN GREENARD

  • Finished with three tackles (all solo), one quarterback hit, one tackle for loss and one pass defensed

LB KAMU GRUGIER-HILL

  • Finished tied for second on the team with eight tackles (five solo), also notching one tackle for loss and one forced fumble
  • Forced a fumble recovered by DL Roy Lopez in the second quarter, his second of the season and new single-season career high
  • Is one of two NFL players this season (Vonn Bell, CIN) with at least 40 tackles, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles

LB NEVILLE HEWITT

  • Led the team with nine tackles (five solo) and had one special teams tackle

DL JORDAN JENKINS

  • Finished with four tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks
  • Shared a sack of QB Jacoby Brissett for a loss of 12 yards with DL Maliek Collins in the second quarter
  • Sacked QB Jacoby Brissett for a loss of 10 yards in the third quarter

P CAMERON JOHNSTON

  • Punted five times for 235 yards (47.0 avg.), including a long of 58 yards, and pinned three punts inside the 20

RB PHILLIP LINDSAY

  • Led the team with 28 rushing yards on eight carries (3.5 avg.)

DL ROY LOPEZ

  • Finished with three tackles (two solo), one sack and one fumble recovery
  • Recovered a fumble that was forced by LB Kamu Grugier-Hill in the second quarter at the Miami 33-yard line, his first career fumble recovery
  • Sacked QB Jacoby Brissett for a loss of two yards in the second quarter, his first career sack

DL JACOB MARTIN

  • Finished with three tackles (one solo), one sack, two quarterback hits and one forced fumble
  • Strip Sacked QBJacoby Brissett in the fourth quarter, DL Maliek Collins recovered the fumble at the Houston 40-yard line, his second sack of the season

DB A.J. MOORE JR.

  • Forced a fumble on special teams, recovered by LB Kevin Pierre-Louis in the second quarter, his second career forced fumble

OL JIMMY MORRISSEY

  • Made his first start as a Texan, opening the game at center, and joined WR Nico Collins, DL Roy Lopez and QB Davis Mills as rookie Texans who have started a game this season

DB ERIC MURRAY

  • Finished tied for second on the team with eight tackles (five solo) and one interception
  • Intercepted QB Jacoby Brissett in the first quarter, his first interception as a Texan and second of his career

LB KEVIN PIERRE-LOUIS

  • Led the team with two tackles on special teams and had one fumble recovery
  • Recovered a fumble forced by DB A.J. Moore Jr on special teams in the second quarter, his second career fumble recovery

QB TYROD TAYLOR

  • Completed 24-of-43 passes (55.8 percent) for 240 yards and three interceptions for a passer rating of 42.8

DB TAVIERRE THOMAS

  • Finished tied for second on the team with eight tackles (six solo)
