  • 2nd Quarter – WR Anthony Miller caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from QB Davis Mills, capping off a seven-play, 64-yard drive (1:12) to cut the Panthers lead to 7-6
  • 4th Quarter – K Joey Slye connected on a 53-yard field goal attempt to complete an eight-play, 40-yard scoring drive (3:35) cut Carolina's lead to 17-9

DL ROSS BLACKLOCK

  • Strip-sacked QB Sam Darnold for a six-yard loss to end the second quarter, his first career sack and first career forced fumble

WR BRANDIN COOKS

  • Finished with nine receptions for 112 yards (12.4 avg.), marking his fifth-consecutive games with 75-plus receiving yards dating back to the 2020 season. Cook's entered Week 3 tied for the longest active streak of 75-plus receiving yard games in the NFL (Sterling Shepherd, 4 games)
  • Eclipsed 100 yards receiving in a regular season game for the 20th time in his career

LB ZACH CUNNINGAM

  • Led the team with 14 tackles (five solo), the highest total by a Texan this season and tied for the fourth-highest total of his caree

DL JONATHAN GREENARD

  • Made his first start of the season and finished the game with four tackles (two solo), the second-highest total of his career
  • Recorded a strip-sack of QB Sam Darnold for a loss of five yards in the second quarter, marking the second sack and first forced fumble of his career

DB VERNON HARGREAVES III

  • Finished third on the team with eight tackles (six solo), tied for the third-highest total of his career and his most as a Texan

P CAMERON JOHNSTON

  • Punted six times for 267 yards (44.5 avg.), including a long of 53 yards
  • Downed three of his six punts within the 20-yard line, tied for a season-high and the second-highest total of his career

LB CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY

  • Finished the game with 10 tackles (seven solo), his first game with 10-plus tackles as a Texan and the 16th such game of his career

DL WHITNEY MERCILUS

  • Sacked QB Sam Darnold for a loss of seven yards to force a punt in the second quarter, his second sack of the season. The play moved his career sack total to 56.0 (second-most in Texans history)

WR ANTHONY MILLER

  • Recorded a 1-yard touchdown reception, his first score as a Texan and the 12th receiving touchdown of his career, from QB Davis Mills to cut the Panthers lead to 7-6 with :25 remaining in the second quarter

QB DAVIS MILLS

  • Made the first start of his NFL career, completing 19-of-28 passes (67.9 percent) for 168 yards and one touchdown and no interception with a 95.5 rating
  • Finished the first half with a 126.9 rating, the second-highest first-half passer rating (min. 10 attempts) by a Texans quarterback making his first NFL start (Case Keenum, 137.5 at KC, 10/20/13)
