RBs, CBs banged up; team looking at options

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said after practice on Thursday morning that the Texans are hosting workouts for a group of running backs and cornerbacks in the Methodist Training Center practice bubble today. The workouts were to take place immediately following practice, though Kubiak did not disclose names of any players.

The Texans have been dealing with **a banged-up group of corners**, and running back has become a concern in recent days. Rookie running back Arian Foster, who has been impressive in camp, tweaked a hamstring on Wednesday and will probably be sidelined for the next two to four days.

"I think probably we're sitting here looking at Monday, and anything other than that would probably be a plus, but it's not bad," Kubiak said. "He'll be OK."

The Texans' other undrafted free agent rookie running back, Jeremiah Johnson, is still dealing with a shoulder injury that he has had since college. Johnson was able to work with the team this morning because they practiced in shorts, but Kubiak said that Johnson is not yet ready for contact because his shoulder pops out when he gets hit.

Veteran free agent running back Clifton Dawson was waived on the third day of camp after injuring his knee.

More on this in our practice report later today.
