Sleeper of the Game presented by Mattress Firm is adapted from a pregame conversation between Marc Vandermeer and John Harris
Mattress Firm Sleeper of the Game
Marc Vandermeer: Our Mattress Firm sleeper of the game – Mattress Firm, the official sleep partner of the Houston Texans. I'm going to say Cade Stover for my sleeper. I like it because Cade, look, he's a front-line kind of player. But when you're talking about the pass-catching threats and who might score touchdowns, you might not think of him right away yet. Could line up at fullback. They could move him around a bit. Catch passes for big first downs. Move the sticks. Keep the drive going. That kind of thing. Maybe eventually Nico scores, but Stover had a big part in the drive in the running game and passing game. I like Cade Stover as my sleeper of the game.
Harris: You know what I've said about Cade. He is my breakout player. I didn't go to him on this one because I feel like I already talked about him as the breakout player. But I feel like Dalton and Cade have to provide more in the passing game and obviously a lot in the run game as well. But there are ways you can manufacture some of that edge stuff. I talked about it earlier last week about potentially going six offensive linemen, bringing Cam Robinson into play as a tight end/tackle next to Aireontae Ersery or Tytus Howard or however they line up.
