Smith goes second; run on tackles coming?

Jason Smith of Baylor went No. 2 overall to the St. Louis Rams, eliciting a spirited cheer of "Sic 'em!" from Baylor grad John McClain of the Houston Chronicle from up here in the Reliant Stadium press box. Smith is the highest drafted player from Baylor since the 1930s or '40s, McClain said.

The draft figures to be top-heavy on offensive tackles, with four projected to go in the Top 11 in our latest **HoustonTexans.com mock draft**. The Texans would be happy to see that happen - for every tackle that comes off the board, a defensive player the Texans might be targeting stays on.
