Good news for Texans fans living in Austin: KTBC FOX 7 Austin will be airing the Texans-49ers game on Sunday, the station announced today. They originally planned to show the Steelers-Vikings game at noon CT instead.
**"After hearing from Texans fans** living in Austin area, the company decided to switch the locally broadcast game," KTBC said in an article on its website. "It will be big game for the Texans (3-3), who are looking to continue their offensive explosion and get above .500. While the up-and-coming 49ers (3-2) are hoping that the addition of rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree sparks their offense to victory."
Big ups to Chris of the HoustonDieHards blog, who was spreading the word about contacting KTBC on **his Twitter page** this week.
In other news, Verizon Wireless will be offering a great service during the game on Sunday as part of the Texans' Salute to the Military day. They will provide five international phones in their Verizon Studio on the South Mezzanine (behind section 354) during the game. The International phones will be available for the troops and their families in attendance to make free calls to their loved ones who are stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and other bases throughout the world and in the United States.
