Texans Cheerleaders ready for 2009

Hi Texans fans!

I cannot believe it! The season is just around the corner and your Houston Texans Cheerleaders have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming season. We have been holding several practices a week to learn new dances, work on fitness and test our memories. While we start practice at the beginning of July, recently we have been enduring our own version of training camp.

Very few people know what our training camp is like. We arrive at practice all wearing the same outfit and are continually tested throughout the evening by our coach Alto. She does this by running several drills to work on our technique and run through the full dances and sideline routines that we already know. We learn new routines and, of course, my least favorite…lots of push-ups!

Although we are all very tired and sore, enduring practice through the past several weeks will all be worth it once we hit the field on Aug. 22! We are currently getting all of our dances ready for gameday and anxiously anticipating getting out on the field. Even though I have been on the squad for three years, I still get butterflies thinking about walking into Reliant Stadium and being greeted by the best fans in the NFL! Go Texans!
